Movie fans we shocked and dismayed when it was announced that The Little Prince, an upcoming film based on the beloved book by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, had been pulled from theaters a mere week before its intended release. The Little Prince had already received widespread acclaim in Europe, and Paramount has released no statement explaining its actions. Thankfully, Entertainment Weekly has confirmed the animated feature was just purchased by Netflix. The online streaming service will likely release The Little Prince sometime this year.
The Little Prince tells the story of an aviator who meets a mysterious young prince while stranded in the desert. Voice credits for the film include Jeff Bridges, Rachel McAdams, Paul Rudd, James Franco, and Paul Giamatti.
