It goes without saying that we live in the age of internet. Everything has a website because everything needs a website, even if it doesn’t. Each week most of us will spend countless hours staring at a computer screen, and though we tell ourselves we’re doing work, a lot of the time we’re really just bored. Don’t believe me? Exactly how much time do you spend on Facebook?

Yeah, that’s what I thought.

The reason sites like StumbleUpon exist at all is because humans are constantly looking for new ways to waste their time. Jesse Carey of Relevant Magazine knows this better than anyone, which is why he pokes fun at our procrastination in his latest article. If you’re going to goof-off online, Carey argues, why not look at these sites?

Classic PC Games

The folks at the Internet Archive digital museum have made it possible to revisit your middle school computer lab by putting classic PC games like The Oregon Trail and Prince of Persia online. Just watch out for dysentery.

Ok, so wasting time can be fun, but what about the Christian who’s looking for something a little more edifying? 2 Peter 3:18 does say we’re supposed to being growing in grace and knowledge, and if you’re going to procrastinate online, perhaps it should be with something that’s improving your relationship with Christ. If that’s what you’re looking for, you might just consider one of these websites.
