The Reason Behind a Day of Reason

Of Food and Feeding

While pastors are charged to teach and lead, that is not where discipleship and challenge is meant solely to reside. The nature of healthy, biblical community – as painted in the New Testament – comes through the "one-anothers."

Mere Christianity is not a reduction of orthodoxy, but the distillation of Christianity so that it is fermented to its fullest potency.

Parents, Sports and Church

I am about to enter into a volatile subject. Not abortion or same-sex marriage. I want to talk about parents, sports and the church.

Heresy Creep

There is a growing phenomenon in many churches – particularly large, fast-growing evangelical churches - that can only be called “heresy creep.”

"Good" Friday (2013)

The amazing thing about Good Friday is that it was -- and is -- part of the "good" declared by God at creation. And it was a good for us.

Bringing a Knife to a Gunfight

I've always found the "armor of God" passage in Ephesians 6 a rich vein of Scripture. Specifically, how we can stand strong in our faith in the face of enormous, ferocious opposition to stand at all.

The Shepherd-Rancher Divide

Every church longs to grow. That’s the way it should be. "The Great Commission" was not "The Small Suggestion." So what is keeping many of these churches from reaching their full potential?
