11:02 AM Marlene and I saw "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" last night. Simply put, it is a masterpiece. Go see it. If you've read the book, you'll love it. If you haven't read the book, you'll love it. I'm pretty sure about that because Marlene has read the book several times and I haven't, and we both loved it. Lucy steals the show. Loved the Beavers. Lewis loved the ancient myths and he brings them into play as he weaves the story. In a nice twist, Lewis's step-son Douglas Gresham (whom I met  ) provides the voice for the BBC News from London. It's a fitting connection since Mere Christianity started out as a series of radio broadcasts during WWII. It's very hard to capture the essence of a story like this, but the moviemakers managed to transfer the heart of Lewis's tale to the big screen. As a side note, I wanted to stand up and cheer when Aslan came back from the dead. This is a movie that will make you believe all over again. And the ending is perfect. Just perfect.

11:00 AM 2353 miles. No bike riding today. It's cold and rainy in north Mississippi but that's nothing compared to the six inches of snow they're expecting in Chicago.
