10:24 PM The next six days will be very busy. I leave tomorrow for my final media trip of the year. I will go first to Marion, IL, then to Spartanburg, SC, then to Pittsburgh, PA. Marlene will travel to Nashville and on Friday she will fly to Harrisburg, PA where I'm speaking at a Christmas banquet for ABWE (the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism). I looked at my flight plan (prepared by the publisher) and realized that it starts in Memphis, goes to St. Louis, then to Marion, back to St. Louis, on to Chicago, then to Greenville, SC, then to Washington, on to Pittsburgh, then to Harrisburg, on to Atlanta, and finally back to Tupelo.

10:23 PM For the last few hours Marlene and I have been trying to make online reservations for Nick's trip to China in January. He's going (and returning) a few days earlier than we are so it's a slightly different itinerary. And with dial-up the whole thing is taking a long time. But I think we're almost done.

10:18 PM A friend notes that the Gladys Aylward biography, "The Little Woman" by Alan Burgess, was the basis for the movie "The Inn of the Sixth Happiness" starring Ingrid Bergman. We purchased the movie after our visit to China last January and enjoyed it enormously, even though it takes liberties with the story and somewhat downplays the Christian emphasis. But the heroic march through the mountains leading the children to safety comes through in dramatic fashion.

10:17 PM 2265 miles.
