6:48 AM Here's a story you may remember. After the tsunami disaster last December, a man walking along a beach in Thailand spotted a camera buried in the sand. He dug it up and discovered a memory stick in it. It turned out to contain pictures taken by a couple on vacation on Thailand who perished when the tsunami struck. The final pictures show the tsunami approaching the shore with the enormous wave about to hit. The man and his wife eventually found the family of the couple in the photos and returned the pictures to them. The story made headlines across the country and Peter Jennings named him "Person of the Week" in February. That man was Chris Pilet, an ABWE missionary who went to Thailand with a volunteer relief team. Chris prfor the banquet last night. Click here to view a slide show containing six images of the tsunami as it approaches the shore. Chris and his wife serve with ABWE as missionaries in Mongolia.
