"They admitted that they were aliens and strangers on earth" (Hebrews 11:13).

In our shrinking, flat, and increasingly crowded world, we are all continually reminded that “we aren’t from around here.” If we get on a bus in a strange city, we look for someone who looks like us. Traveling in a large city overseas can be a scary experience if we don’t speak the language, and sometimes even if we do, especially when we see people looking at us, whispering to each other, sometimes laughing at us, sometimes pointing.

We shouldn't be surprised by that, and it shouldn't intimidate us. As the old song says, "This world is not my home, I'm just a passing through."

Christians are truly “not from around here.” We don't fit in because we aren't supposed to fit in. We’ve got a passport that says, “Citizen of Heaven.”

So cheer up, child of God.
Put a smile on your face.
Don't worry about those strange looks you get.
You aren't home yet.
