Monday's Musings to Start the Week

VATICAN:  MUSLIMS HAVE OVERTAKEN US...

By sheer numbers alone. The writer explained “It is true that while Muslim families, as is well known, continue to make a lot of children, Christian ones on the contrary tend to have fewer and fewer.” Why are Christian families having fewer and fewer children? Could it be simply the economy, or fear of the growing immorality inside of today's culture? Why, when we have the TRUTH in Jesus, do we make an obvious decision to have less children in our families? FOX News

MORE COMPANIES ALLOW MOTHERS TO TAKE BABIES TO WORK...

From the story: More than 80 companies across the nation allow babies in the workplace, according to Parenting in the Workplace Institute in Framingham, Mass., which says that number is likely to be low. It's an extreme - and controversial - example of how employers are seeking more ways to help workers strike a balance between work and the rest of their lives. One has to ask, "Is this good for the child, to be surrounded by deadlines, stress and the intimidation that relates to today's corporate work structure?" USA Today

MORE THAN 8,000 SAN FRANCISCO CITY WORKERS TOP $100,000 PER YEAR...

From the outside looking in, this may seem to be ridiculous; a park ranger made $263,000, a nurse made $216,000 last year. But, if one actually 'lives' within San Francisco's lines, the economic strain upon their families and average, daily lives is huge. Are these really 'just average salaries' for the workers of the City? San Francisco Chronicle

SOME COMPANIES ARE GOING 'TOP-LESS' FOR MEETINGS...

Frustrated by workers so plugged in that they tuned out in the middle of business meetings, a growing number of companies are going "topless," as in no laptops allowed. Also banned from some conference rooms: BlackBerrys, iPhones and other devices on which so many people have come to depend. But as laptops got lighter and smart phones even smarter, people discovered a handy diversion -- making more eye contact with their screens than one another. It became so pervasive that Todd Wilkens, who works at a San Francisco design firm, waged a "personal war against CrackBerry." LA Times

HINDU'S SLAM CHRISTIANS WHO USE YOGA AS WORSHIP PRACTICE...

It’s hypocrisy, says Maha Sabha head, but Catholic teacher says it has helped her draw closer to Christ. A Catholic spiritual teacher who encourages her pupils to find God through yoga has been slated by Hindu leaders. Winnie Young, 96, has spent most of her life teaching yoga after studying under one of the world’s leading yogis, Yogacharya BKS Iyengar. Young, who founded a national yoga institute in 1975, said people had a misconception of yoga as a religion. Her institute believed yoga was a tool to connect to God. The Times
