When Jesus cried, women were present.
Sometimes He was crying with them, other times they were crying with Him

Three weeks ago I reread the story of Mary and Martha and Lazarus's death in John 11(Take a second and read it.)

Jesus wept(John 11:35)

Did you know, Jesus, when He wept in this story, His weeping was a juxtaposition?

The obvious tell of His weeping was for Lazarus. They were friends and Scripture tell us he was "the one whom Jesus loved." (11:3)

But the juxtaposed tell of Jesus' weeping was Mary. Jesus wept because Mary was weeping. (11:32-35) He mourned with her. He saw her and met her where she was at. He didn't try to console her with reason or miracles. He. just. wept.

There are times when I don't want reason or miracles, I just need to weep. Bitterly, soberly, with my Savior. And knowing that He weeps with me, is one of the most comforting things I have discovered this season
