Coach Tom Osborne on the Radio Today

It's fitting that we should have former Nebraska head coach Tom Osborne on the radio this morning since the college football season kicks off tonight. During the 25 years he coached the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Coach Osborne's teams were a model of consistency, never winning less than 9 games in a season, and ending up in the top 15 of the AP poll 24 of the 25 years. He won the national championship three times, including back to back in 1994 and 1995.

After his coaching career, Tom Osborne served three terms in Congress representing Nebraska's 3rd District. He'll be on "Today's Issues" from 10:15-11 AM CDT to talk about his brand-new book Beyond the Final Score: There's More to Life Than the Game.

We'll spend the second hour (11 AM-12 Noon CDT) talking to David Aikman about his book The Mirage of Peace: Understanding the Never-Ending Conflict in the Middle East. Having served as the Jerusalem bureau chief for Time Magazine, David Aikman brings a wealth of knowledge to his topic. He joins a journalist's mind to a believer's heart to show how God is at work in a region torn by centuries of strife.

I'm co-hosting "Today's Issues" this morning from 10 AM-12 Noon CDT with Tim Wildmon and Marvin Sanders. To listen to the broadcast, go to the AFR Media Page and click on "AFR-Talk."
