A 108-year-old woman will be able to remain in her home after receiving $56,000 in a GoFundMe campaign.

According to ChristianToday.com, Carrie Rausch lives in an assisted living facility in Columbus, Ohio. She was unable to pay to live there any longer after the facility would no longer accept her Medicaid payments.

Rausch had no other assets, having already spent the money from the sale of the house she and her late husband bought.

That was when Rausch’s daughter had the idea to start a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for her mother to remain in her home. Rausch needed $40,000 to live in the home for another year.

Remarkably, the campaign ended up raising $56,000 from 900 people, mostly complete strangers, who donated to help Rausch in her time of need.

Now Rausch will not only be able to remain in her home another year, but she and her daughter have decided to donate the $16,000 extra to St. John’s Lutheran Church where Rausch is a lifelong member.

Rausch’s daughter says her mother’s secret to such longevity is due to good nutrition and to her positive attitude and belief that God will always provide for her.
