A sculpture of Jesus worth $7,500 was stolen from a gallery in Indiana. Barbara Jennings, owner of the Thomas Kinkade gallery in Zionsville believes the theft occurred on Small Business Saturday, a day that coincided with the Zionsville parade.

"We were maybe so busy, we weren't always attentive to every person who was in the gallery at all times," Jennings said.

Gallery staff did not notice the rare bronze statue was missing until Tuesday (Dec. 2). The artwork was one of 30 “Prince of Peace” sculptures created by artist Thomas Kinkade. Jennings said her gallery housed number eight.

The police have been notified of the theft and pawn shops will be looking for the stolen piece.

Jennings said she was disappointed and has lost trust in the community since the event.

"What sort of person would steal Christ? That's how I felt," she said.
