Actor Kevin Sorbo is speaking out about the stigma that Christians have in Hollywood. The film and television actor is currently starring in the movie “God’s Not Dead” which hits theatres today.

"There's a negativity towards Christians in Hollywood," Sorbo said. "And a negativity towards people who believe in God."

In the fim, Sorbo plays an Atheist college theology professor, but the actor is not shy about professing his faith in reality.

Sorbo says that he can feel a distinct difference in the attitude of the Hollywood acting community since he came out of the “Christian closet.” He has not been offered as many roles as he was in the past, but he cannot understand why his religious affiliation should affect his work.

“I don't begrudge them their beliefs, why do they begrudge mine?" Sorbo said.

Sorbo believes that negative perceptions of Christianity in Hollywood will dissolve when Christians stand up for their faith and what the believe in.

"The silent majority is starting to get annoyed with what's going on" said Sorbo. "I think more people need to start speaking about it instead of just sitting there and taking it...Its happening, you're getting attacked, you need to stand up for yourself and your beliefs."
