Billy Graham’s daughter and the American Family Association (AFA) are urging Americans to pray for revival in the United States.

Anne Graham Lotz has organized a prayer event called “MAYDAY! MAYDAY!” in response to what she calls a time of “distress” in the United States. Charisma News reports the prayer intercession will occur May 15-May 23, the nine days between the Day of Ascension and the Day of Pentecost

The AFA is encouraging Christians to pray now. May 7 marks the National Day of Prayer and the organization is asking Christians to commit to praying for the upcoming Supreme Court decision on gay marriage. Breaking Christian News reports the AFA has also created an online pledge to pray that Christians can sign and share on social media.

AFA President Tim Wildmon said, "There has perhaps never been a more crucial time for our country to come together in prayer. As the Supreme Court decides the fate of the definition of marriage in America, we must pray for the justices to make the right decision for American families and children. Likewise, as we watch American cities devastated by racial unrest, we pray for peace, understanding and a sincere desire for restoration in every city and neighborhood. Matthew 18:20 tells us that, 'where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.' As Christians, we know the Lord never leaves us or forsakes us, and for that we thank Him and praise Him and always keep His divine plans for our lives at the forefront."
