Christian Charity President Admits to Using Donations to Fund Sex Addiction

The president of a Christian charity has reportedly pleaded guilty to embezzling $475,000 from charity donations to fund his sex addiction. The AP reports Jon S. Peterson, president of World Ambassadors, Ltd., transferred the money to his personal checking account between 2010 and 2014.

Peterson has been released from custody pending a sentencing hearing; he has charged with one count of filing a false tax return in 2013, when he failed to report $114,000 from the charity. 

Peterson said that the funds were used to support a sex addiction he struggled with for ten years. 

World Ambassadors, Ltd. was founded by Peterson and his wife in 1993 with a mission of providing Christian outreach to international college students. The organization received donations from about three dozen contributors annually.
