'Christianity Today' Compiles List of 33 Millennials Shaping the Church

Christianity Today magazine has compiled a list of 33 Christians that shaping that church today, and not one of them is over the age of 33. The millennial generation has sparked a great deal of conversation, and not all of it is positive. But Christianity Today named 33 young people involved in ministry who are having a real impact; many of them use their faith in surprising ways. From pastors, to musicians, to philanthropists, the way that these millennials are working for the Lord may change the church forever. 

Trip Lee is called the “The Hip-Hop Theologian.” The 26-year-old is already an established name on Christian billboard charts and uses his rap voice to preach the gospel. He now serves as a pastoral assistant in Washington, D.C. 

Nabeel Qureshi is a former Muslim turned Christian evangelist. He is the author of Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus and now speaks on his conversion experience for Ravi Zacharias International Ministries. His mission is to educate Christians on how to love and share God’s word with Muslims.

Jena Lee Nardella is the co-founder and executive director of Blood:Water, a position she has held since the age of 22. The non-profit organization partners with Christian band Jars of Clay to drill wells and provide clean water to developing countries. Blood:Water has raised over $22 million for the cause. 

Joshua DuBois knows President Barack Obama on a deeply personal level as he served as the president’s faith adviser during the 2008 campaign and first term in office. He led Obama in prayer and texted him Bible verses for encouragement and inspiration. DuBois has now started his own organization Values Partnerships, which focuses on connecting businesses and governments with faith. 

Lila Rose is a force to be reckoned with in the pro-life movement. She formed the pro-life group Live Action when she was only 15 to get youth involved in the fight for life. The group goes beyond marches by going undercover to abortion clinics and videotaping their experiences to expose illegal activity.

Chris Galanos is the pastor of Experience Life Church, and at 32, he is the youngest megachurch pastor in the nation. Experience Life aims to “present the Bible in a way that’s engaging to young people” Galanos said, and is rapidly growing.
