Palestinian sources say that at least 100 people have died from Israeli air strikes on Gaza.

Friday, two people died in a car in the Bureij area.

Israel has launched hundreds of strikes to try to stop rocket fire from militants in Gaza.

The Palestinian health ministry says that another 675 people, mostly civilians, have been injured in Israel’s strikes. Israel, however, says that “dozens of terrorists” have been killed.

In a telephone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, US President Barack Obama said: "The United States remains prepared to facilitate a cessation of hostilities, including a return to the November 2012 ceasefire agreement."

Egypt and Turkey, however, have criticized Israel for striking.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said: "You have to end this oppression. As long as it does not end, a normalising of ties between Turkey and Israel is not possible."

Recently, an Israel air strike killed five people in a house, and a second strike killed a girl and a motorcycle rider. In Israel, one person was injured when a rocket hit a petrol station Friday.

Another three rockets have been shot down by Israel’s Iron Dome anti-missile system.
