A plane crash in the Bahamas killed all nine passengers on board, including a prominent evangelical pastor and his wife. Dr. Myles Munroe, a pastor and bestselling author was killed in the crash along with his wife Ruth.

The plane reportedly crashed as it approached the Grand Bahama International Airport; the cause for the crash has not yet been verified, but it is believed that heavy rains in the region were a factor.

A statement from the Ministry of Transport and Aviation said, "The Department of Civil Aviation has been advised unofficially that the aircraft was destroyed and that there were no survivors.”

Myles and Ruth Munroe were travelling to the Global Leadership Forum in Freeport at the time of the accident.

Dr. Richard H. Pinder, Senior Vice President and Pastor of Bahamas Faith Ministries Fellowship church also died in the crash. ABC News reports that Pinder was also travelling to the conference.

A message was posted to Munroe’s Facebook page saying the conference would go on as scheduled. "This is what Dr. Munroe would have wanted. Please keep his family and the ministry in prayers,” the message read.
