The Ballard Blocks location of Mars Hill Church will remain a place of worship, after the building was purchased by Seattle-based Quest Church for $9 million.

Christian Today reports that Ballard Blocks, the main campus of the former Mars Hill Church, was originally bought for $4.8 million in 2003. After a renovation, it was made to accommodate over 1,000 people.

The multi-campus Mars Hill Church dissolved last year after lead pastor Mark Driscoll was found to be involved with several scandals including plagiarism and misuse of church funds.

According to the Puget Sound Business Journal, the Ballard Blocks church had been scouted by several retailer developers for its prime location, but Quest Church won the property with its $9 million bid.

Other Mars Hill properties remain on the market, including the corporate headquarters located in Ballard and the former Sammamish campus location.
