The advocacy group One Million Moms (OMM) is battling against Fox for airing the show “Lucifer,” which OMM claims portrays the devil as a likeable character.

The show portrays the devil as a handsome man named Lucifer Morningstar who is bored with ruling hell so he comes to Los Angeles to start a nightclub.

Lucifer in the show feels happy when he helps the L.A. police punish criminals and he falls in love with a female detective who displays “goodness and purity,” according to Christian Today.

OMM says the show is “spiritually dangerous” because it makes the devil “look cool and irresistable to women.”

The show portrays Lucifer as not actually thoroughly evil, but suggests that he is thought of as evil because that is what God wants.

"Do you think I'm the devil because I'm inherently evil or just because dear old Dad decided I was?” Lucifer says in the show.

"The message of the show is clear. Lucifer is just misunderstood. He doesn't want to be a bad guy, it's God who is forcing him to play that role," One Million Mom says.

OMM has filed a petition with Fox Network CEO Peter Rice, asking Fox not to air “Lucifer.” Fox did not comply with OMM’s request.

"The program previews mischaracterize Satan, departs from true biblical teachings about him, and inaccurately portrays the beliefs of the Christian faith," the petition reads. "By choosing to air this show, Fox is disrespecting Christianity and mocking the Bible."
