A number of celebrities passed away this past year, with a few noteworthy figures leaving this world just in the last week. Evangelist Franklin Graham recently offered some comments on these celebrity deaths.

On his Facebook page, the Rev. Graham used the events of celebrity deaths to discuss issues of eternity and faith in Christ.

"This week, pop icon George Michael passed away at age 53, Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher died at 60, and award-winning Watership Down author Richard Adams died at the age of 96,” wrote Graham.“From the unknown to the most well-known, we all have something in common — death."

“Our time on Earth is brief – the Bible says like 'a vapor,'” he continued. “And each of us will stand before Almighty God to give an account. There are no VIP passes or exceptions," the global evangelist pointed out. "The decision that will determine where we spend eternity is whether we have believed in His Son, Jesus Christ – trusting Him as our Savior and following Him as Lord.”

In addition to Michael, Fisher, and Adams, actress Debbie Reynolds, known for her role in “Singin’ in the Rain,” as well as being the mother of Carrie Fisher, passed away recently, just a day after her daughter.

Other celebrity deaths in 2016 include singers Prince and David Bowie, actors Alan Rickman and Gene Wilder, and Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel.

Many people have been posting on social media, sharing their hopes and prayers that no other celebrities will pass away in the few days left in 2016.
