Franklin Graham, president of both the Billy Graham Evangelical Association and nonprofit Samaritan’s Purse, is well known for speaking his mind about a variety of issues; however, the Christian leader says his father, Billy Graham, never criticized his outspokenness

According to Franklin Graham, his father was also willing to address controversial topics.

"My father was also critical. He was critical of communism. He was critical of sex and violence in Hollywood,” Graham said.

"In recent years, he certainly came out in support of Amendment One in North Carolina which is the state's voter-approved gay marriage ban. It's the same one federal judges struck down recently."

Graham supports biblical marriage as his father did.

"Marriage is defined between a man and a woman,” he said. “And it`s never been defined between two women or two men.”

"God is the one who instituted marriage and for our politicians and our judges to say something contrary to God's law and teaching is a sad day."

Graham also made recently international headlines when he invited all Muslims to convert to Christianity.

“I want to say something to all the Muslims that may be watching this that are confused and are afraid themselves,” Graham said. “I want them to know that God loves them and that Jesus Christ died for their sins — and Christ will forgive them and heal their hearts…And they don’t have to die in a jihad, they don’t have to kill somebody else to please God. God loves them and he will accept them through faith and through his son, Jesus Christ.”
