George H.W. Bush Will Reportedly Vote for Hillary Clinton

Former Republican president George H.W. Bush is reportedly planning on voting for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in the November election.

TheBlaze.com reports that the 92-year-old former president revealed his voting plans to Kathleen Hartington Kennedy Townsend, who is a Democrat and a daughter of the late Robert F. Kennedy.

Townsend told Politico that she met with Bush in Maine where he revealed to her that he will cast a vote for Clinton. Townsend also posted a photo to her private Facebook account of herself and the former president with the caption, “The President told me he’s voting for Hillary!!”

Although the Bushes, including George H.W., his son and former president George W., and his son and former 2016 Republican presidential candidate Jeb have made it clear that they do not support Donald Trump, this is the first time news has surfaced that a member of their family will be supporting Clinton.

Jeb Bush, who had a bitter rivalry with Donald Trump in the primaries, declined to say who he will be voting for in November, though he previously stated in a Facebook post that, “In November, I will not vote for Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton, but I will support principled conservatives at the state and federal levels, just as I have done my entire life.”

The Bushes did not attend the Republican National Convention earlier this summer, also suggesting that they do not support Trump.
