A pro-abortion group called “Grandmothers for Reproductive Rights (GRR) is garnering attention from Planned Parenthood.

According to a report from LifeNews.com, GRR is a small pro-abortion group of grandmothers in Maine, started by Julia Kahrl.

Planned Parenthood recently highlighted the group in a tweet:

LifeNews notes that it is rather ironic that Kahrl shared a photo of herself smiling along with her two granddaughters when she is advocating for children and grandchildren to be aborted.

Kahrl also reportedly has ties to Planned Parenthood’s founder, Margaret Sanger, who was a proponent of eugenics.

Kahrl’s father, Clarence Gamble, was a doctor who worked with Sanger. Gamble started an organization called the Pathfinder Fund which advocated for abortions and birth control to be used as population control measures in third world countries.

Kahrl said she started her own pro-abortion organization as a way for women her age to champion reproductive rights.

“I think women are waking up to how threatened this kind of care is,” she said in an interview with CBS News 13. “There is something about grandmothers doing this, working with this and caring, because it’s not for us at this point. It is for our daughters, our sons, our grandsons, our granddaughters.”
