Indiana has revised its religious freedom law after critics protested that the law discriminated against homosexuals.

Christian Today reports that Indiana Governor Mike Pence signed the revision Thursday (April 2) that clarifies businesses may not discriminate against individuals due to “race, color, religion, ancestry, age, national origin, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or United States military service.”

Churches and religious organizations will be exempt for the religious freedom law.

Pence said in a statement, "In the midst of this furious debate, I have prayed earnestly for wisdom and compassion, and I have felt the prayers of people across this state and across this nation.”
