An Israeli woman has been stabbed to death in her home in the West Bank settlement of Otniel while she tried to protect her children.

The Blaze reports that Dafna Meir, a mother of six, including two foster children, had previously expressed her fears of the increasingly dangerous situation in the West Bank.

“Lately, I have had a lot of objections in light of the security situation, thoughts about what is necessary and what is unnecessary to do, about fears, about my husband and children,” Meir, who worked as a nurse, wrote as a post for a community publication. “The situation is not easy and sometimes it feels like Russian roulette.”

Meir reportedly wrestled with the attacker before he fatally stabbed her. Her teenage daughter then ran upstairs with the other children and contacted the family’s father.

“The terrorist tried without a doubt to hurt the kids and Dafna, who was so small and short, fought him,” Yehuda Glick, a well-known right-wing activist and a neighbor of the Meirs’ told Walla news, quoted by the Times of Israel.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to find the terrorist and bring him to justice.

“We will find the terrorist, and he will pay the full price for this heinous murder,” Netanyahu posted on Facebook. “In the name of all Israelis, I want to give strength to all the children of the family. All of us are hurting and share in the painful grief.”
