James Dobson Calls for Pro-Life Protests in Response to CA Pro-Abortion Law

Christian leader and psychologist Dr. James Dobson is calling on Christians to protest a California law that requires pro-life centers to tell their patients about abortion.

According to wnd.com, the law was signed by California Gov. Jerry Brown last year, but has not been enforced due to a series of lawsuits.

Now, however, California’s progressive Ninth Circuit Court has upheld the law, paving the way for it to be put into practice.

The law says that 75 pregnancy centers in the state--which are state-licensed and privately funded--must educate their patients on the availability of abortion and contraception services.

Dobson has issued a clear appeal to Christians:

"I have a simple word of advice to those pastors, priests and others who run California's crisis pregnancy centers," he said. "If California attempts to enforce this law, then do not comply. Make them put you in jail.”

Opponents of the law say that it violates the religious freedom of these mostly Christian-run pregnancy centers by forcing them to essentially provide their patients with a referral to an abortion clinic.

Dobson continued his objection to the law, noting, “Since Roe. V. Wade, privately funded crisis pregnancy centers across America have provided a refuge and an alternative to women who might have otherwise chosen abortion. They are vitally important in the fight to promote a culture of life, adoption and health. This ruling now forces these clinics to violate their sincerely held religious beliefs, and it is an affront to our constitutionally mandated rights to life and to religious freedom.”
