Jan Crouch, Trinity Broadcasting Network Co-Founder, Dies at 78

Jan Crouch, who co-founded Trinity Broadcasting Network along with her husband, has died at the age of 78 from complications of a stroke.

Crouch reportedly suffered a stroke on May 27. She was hospitalized after the event and passed away on Tuesday (May 31).

Crouch’s son Matt wrote a Facebook post, telling Trinity Broadcasting Network’s followers of his mother’s passing:

“Laurie and I have just watched the transition of our precious Mother from this world to the next; watched her step into the presence of Jesus and into her heavenly reward. Jan Crouch, known around the world as Momma Jan, has gone home,” wrote Matt Crouch.

Crouch and her husband, Paul, founded Trinity Broadcasting Network in 1973. Today, it is the world’s largest religious television network.

Crouch and her husband had two children, Matt and Paul Jr. In an extended post on their mother’s passing, Jan Crouch’s children wrote:

“Viewers of the Trinity Broadcasting Network knew her as someone who partnered with Paul Crouch in the launch and expansion of TBN, and as someone who came into their homes for over 40 years … To a select few she was not a television figure, but was sister, wife, Mom, or Grandma — an integral part of a family...Jan Crouch loved many things, but most of all she loved Jesus, and now has seen Him face to face and has experienced His grace in fullness.”
