A Jewish woman who miraculously survived three Nazi concentration camps says that God kept her alive for a reason.

Magda Herzberger, who is now 90 years old, was only in fourth grade when German Nazis began to target Jews in her town of Cluj, Romania.

When she was 17, Herzberger, along with other Jews in Cluj, were taken by Nazi soldiers to the notorious Auschwitz concentration camp in Poland. Despite the terrible conditions in Auschwitz, Herzberger survived, and seven weeks later, she was transferred to a concentration camp in Bremen, Germany, to do hard labor with other young women.

While in Bremen, Herzberger survived harsh working conditions, freezing temperatures, and a severe lack of nutrition.

Still later, Herzberger was transferred to the Bergen-Belsen camp. By the time she got to Bergen-Belsen, Herzberger was barely alive.

According to ChristianToday.com, she says she gave up all hope of survival and laid down near a pile of corpses. But God had other plans.

It was at this critical moment for Herzberger that British soldiers liberated the camp and she was found.

"I was lying helplessly among the corpses, and I couldn't speak or move," she recalled. "How fortunate this soldier came to this pile of corpses," she said. "Don't you think it was God's will to save me?"

Herzberger has gone on to become a famous speaker and author. In her autobiography titled Survival, she writes about her story. Through everything she endured, she remains assured that God has always and will always be with her.

“He will not desert me,” she said.
