Protests took place Saturday outside Planned Parenthood clinics in some 320 cities, with Pastor John Piper giving a stirring prayer outside a clinic in St. Paul, Minnesota.

The Blaze reports that Saturday’s protest is likely the largest-ever protest against Planned Parenthood

The protests were organized by a coalition of pro-life groups, according to Christian News, and took place in the wake of the Center for Medical Progress’ undercover videos, which claim to expose Planned Parenthood's heartless practice of harvesting baby parts from abortions to sell for profit.

Protesters hope to put pressure on the government to defund Planned Parenthood.

Many protests featured speakers who shared their own stories about abortion, gave information about resources to find healing from the trauma of abortion, or discussed the history of Planned Parenthood and its founder, Margaret Sanger.

A petition to demand lawmakers defund Planned Parenthood was also circulated at many protests.

Speaking to the West Chester Daily Local News, Pennsylvania protester Mary Ellen Caris stated, “It’s wrong, it’s evil and it’s sick. This is where they kill babies every Tuesday. They’re like the McDonald’s for abortion…”

Pastor John Piper, former pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota, agreed that the atrocities committed by Planned Parenthood must be stopped.

In a stirring opening prayer at a protest in St. Paul, Minnesota, Piper said, “You made all the children. You made all the abortionists. You are our creator. You uphold all things by the Word of your power. You sustain all things. You govern all things.”

"We want to dedicate ourselves afresh and we want to pray for Planned Parenthood that they might live to righteousness,” Piper continued. “We want to ask that according to their title, which is on the wall — Planned Parenthood — that they would bring about nurturing parents rather than helping parents stop being parents by killing their children.”

Planned Parenthood says that the people engaging in the protests are extremists who have a clear political agenda to ban abortion and prevent women and men from receiving sufficient healthcare.

“These rallies are meant to intimidate and harass our patients, who rely on our nonprofit health centers for basic, preventive health care,” Planned Parenthood Vice President, Eric Ferrero said.

John Piper disagreed.

“There were just too many strollers and baby-packs for me to think that group was made up of ‘extremists’ ready to break the law,” he said.
