Pop star Justin Bieber has been becoming more and more vocal about his faith. Recently, he posted a picture to Instagram of the new tattoos he got which seem to be inspired by The Chronicles of Narnia.

Since his interview with Complex magazine in September 2015 in which he said, “ I just wanna honestly live like Jesus,” Bieber has often been in the news for his newfound faith.

After a rather rough road filled with run-ins with the law, Bieber seems to have become more grounded. He now often attends The City Church in Seattle, Washington, led by Pastor Judah Smith who is a friend of Bieber’s and what some have even called a spiritual mentor to the pop star.

Bieber posted a picture of his new tattoos which feature a bear and a lion across his chest, with a cross in the middle. The picture also shows an eagle tattooed on Bieber’s shoulder.

According to Christian Today, some have speculated that the lion is a reference to Aslan, the Jesus-like lion in C. S. Lewis’s famous books The Chronicles of Narnia.

Additionally, eagles and bears are depicted as being very loyal to Aslan in the Narnia series.

While it is not known for sure if Bieber chose these particular tattoos because they reflect the popular books from the well-known Christian author, due to Bieber’s increased commitment to his faith, it doesn’t seem like too much of a stretch to make this assumption.
