Mexican Christians Burn Effigies of Trump in Place of Judas during Easter Celebration

During Easter celebrations, some Mexican Christians burned effigies of Donald Trump in place of the usual effigy of Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Jesus.
Mexican Christians traditionally burn effigies of Judas as part of the Holy Week celebration, but this year many burned effigies of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump to show their disdain for what they see as Trump’s anti-Mexican rhetoric.
The Christian Post reports that Trump has made illegal immigration a platform of his campaign, and has repeatedly stated that he will build a huge wall between the U.S. and Mexico and will force the Mexican government to pay for it.
He also stated back in June, "I like Mexico. I love the Mexican people. I do business with the Mexican people, but you have people coming through the border that are from all over. And they're bad. They're really bad. You have people coming in, and I'm not just saying Mexicans, I'm talking about people that are from all over that are killers and rapists and they're coming into this country."
This rhetoric has angered many Mexicans, including Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto who has compared Trump to Hitler.
"Since he started his campaign and began talking about immigrants, Mexico, and Mexicans, I said 'I've got to get this guy,'" said Felipe Linares, one artisan who crafted a Trump effigy.
