A new radical Islamic group has been established in Nigeria, which could result in more attacks against Nigerian Christians, according to International Christian Concern. The group, called Jama'atu Ansarul Musilimina fi Biladin Sudan (Supporters of Islam in the Land of Sudan) has vowed to defend the interests of Islam and Muslims in Africa, according to a videotaped monologue produced by the group's leader, Abu Usamatul Ansar. Ansar disparaged the Nigerian government for the "massacring of Muslims" and vowed that such behavior would no longer be tolerated. It is thought that the new group could be an offshoot of Boko Haram, Nigeria's al Qaeda-linked Islamist organization.
