New Miss America Previously Worked at Planned Parenthood

Kira Kazantsev was crowned Miss America on Sunday (Sept. 14). The former Miss New York sang Pharrell Williams’ “Happy” while tapping a plastic cup and campaigned on a platform of domestic violence awareness. Now news has broken that Kazantsev also previously held an internship at Planned Parenthood, America’s largest abortion provider.

According to Kazantsev’s LinkedIn profile, she interned at Planned Parenthood in Hampstead, New Yrok from February 2013 to April 2013. Under responsibilities, Kazantsev listed, “Assisted delivery of programs in local public schools, teaching children about mutual respect and self-esteem” and “conducted research on Planned Parenthood education.” 

Life News reports that one month after Kazantsev left her position at Planned Parenthood, a clinic in New York City botched an abortion, sending the pregnant woman to the emergency room.
