Norway: Noah’s Ark Replica Collides with Coast Guard Vessel

A life-size replica of Noah’s Ark has reportedly collided with a Norwegian coast guard vessel while the ark made its way from the Netherlands to South America.

According to The Associated Press, the ark ran into a Norwegian “Nornen” patrol vessel which was moored at a quay in Oslo harbor.

Both vessels were reportedly damaged. The ark suffered a large hole above the water line, while a crane on the Norwegian vessel was damaged.

The ark, which is making its maiden voyage to various ports in South America for the summer Olympic Games, is the brainchild of Dutch carpenter Johan Huibers who built it according to the instructions God gave Noah in Genesis.

"The Ark of Noah team is a multinational team from the United States, the Netherlands and Brazil supported by many Christian organizations around the globe," stated Ruth Graham in a statement of support for the ark’s mission. "They are eager to bring the Gospel message by bringing the Ark across the Atlantic Ocean to Brazil.”

It was not reported how long the damage will delay the ark’s voyage.
