People around the world are praying for a North Carolina worship pastor and his wife who lost both of their children in a car accident.

Christian News Network reports Pastor Gentry Eddings and his wife Hadley of Forest Hill Church in Ballantyne were riding caravan-style in separate cars when a box truck rear-ended Gentry Eddings’ vehicle, which was pushed into Hadley’s.

Hadley Eddings, who was eight months pregnant at the time, was rushed to the hospital where doctors performed an emergency C-section. The baby, who the couple named Reed, died two days later. The Eddings’ two-year-old son, Dobbs, died en route to the hospital.

Gentry and Hadley Eddings sustained minor injuries.

Matthew Deans, the driver of the box truck was charged with misdemeanor death by a vehicle. He said his brakes were not working.

Forest Hill Senior Pastor David Chadwick wrote in a letter to the congregation, “Gentry and Hadley are beloved by us all. [Gentry] is a man of enormous integrity. They both possess a deep faith. But it will be challenged in the days and weeks to come like no other time.”
