Possible Boko Haram Gunmen Release 200 Inmates from Nigeria Prison

Two hundred prisoners were released from a Nigeria prison Saturday when gunmen stormed the facility. The medium security prison at Tunga, near the city of Minna was raided, though authorities remain unsure who is behind the attack.

Terrorist group Boko Haram is suspected; the al Qaeda-linked Ansaru are also suspected to have orchestrated the mass break-out. Both militant groups have been behind other prison raids this year.

One security source said, "It's unclear if this is Boko Haram or some criminal gangs. I doubt there were many high profile Boko Haram suspects being held in Minna."

The Huffington Post reports that police were able to recapture 10 of the freed inmates.
