The Trump administration is expected to release a revised immigration order today (Monday).

After President Trump signed the initial travel ban back in January, controversy ensued. The purpose of the executive order was to prevent those with terrorist ties from infiltrating the U.S., but many claimed the order was an unconstitutional religious ban, targeting Islam; others noted the chaos that ensued in the country’s airports as officials attempted to enforce the new order which wasn’t clear in some points.

A federal appeals court ultimately struck down the ban, but now the Trump administration is prepared to release a revised order that allegedly has more clarification on who will be affected and for how long.

President Trump admitted that the rollout of the first order was not handled very well, although he stood behind its content.

According to CBN News, the new order will not apply to legal permanent residents, and will also exclude Iraq from the list of banned countries.

Immigrants from Iran, Somalia, Sudan, Yemen, Syria, and Libya will still be restricted until more extreme vetting procedures can be put in place.

"The new order is going to be very much tailored to what I consider to be a very bad decision," said President Trump, referring to the decision by the 9th Circuit Court that struck down the original order.
