Pro-life advocate David Daleiden has been acquitted of trying to purchase fetal body parts from Planned Parenthood, according to LifeNews.com.
Daleiden, along with colleague Sandra Merritt, worked as undercover investigative journalists in order to uncover the illegal business practices of Planned Parenthood; specifically, the abortion clinic’s sale of fetal tissue from abortions.
The Center for Medical Progress, of which Daleiden is president, then released a series of videos allegedly showing Planned Parenthood engaged in illegal sale of fetal tissue, as well as testimony from former Planned Parenthood workers.
After the release of the videos, Daleiden was accused of attempting to purchase fetal body parts--the very illegal activity of which he accused Planned Parenthood, but a Harris County, Texas judge has dismissed the charges against him.
The Center for Medical Progress issued this statement regarding the judge’s ruling:
“Judge Diane Bull’s swift dismissal of the bogus charge against CMP founder David Daleiden of trafficking human organs is the latest confirmation that the indictments from a runaway grand jury in Houston were a politically-motivated sham all along. In finding that the indictment was void on its face, Judge Bull’s ruling directly contradicts the District Attorney’s argument that the indictment was valid despite the DA’s collusion with Planned Parenthood.”
Although Daleiden has been acquitted of the charge of attempting to purchase fetal body parts, another charge against him still stands. That charge alleges that Daleiden used a fake ID to gain access to a Planned Parenthood clinic.
