Republican Debate: Rubio and Cruz Attack Trump while Trump Goes After Moderator

Donald Trump is dominating headlines yet again after Thursday evening’s (Feb. 25) Republican debate. Though several outlets named Marco Rubio the debate winner, Trump gained attention for his attack of moderator Hugh Hewitt.

Townhall reports that Hewitt inquired about Trump’s previous promise to release his tax returns. Trump responded with a dig at Hewitt.

“First of all, very few people listen to your radio show. That’s the good news… Check out the ratings.”

Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz both attacked Trump for his business record and privileged upbringing, according to Fox News. Rubio received the largest round of applause for the night when he swooped in on the billionaire business mogul for repeating himself on the stage, something that Trump had attacked Rubio for doing one week prior.

After the debate Ted Cruz asserted that Rubio would be a better president than Trump. "Marco is not my enemy, Marco and I are friends,” he said. “Marco and I would both make a much better candidate and a much better president than would Donald.”
