Husband and wife producers Roma Downey and Mark Burnett are preparing to launch their next project. “A.D.,” the follow-up to the hit miniseries, “The Bible” will premiere on NBC Easter Sunday

At a press conference Burnett said, "We couldn't make it any faster. We are people of deep faith and I believe God's hands are all over it. I believe it was always intended to [premiere] on Easter Sunday."

Downey said, "It's the perfect launch day, isn't it? We just know there's a hunger for this kind of material. People are hungry for stories of faith and 'A.D.,' we believe, will satiate that hunger."

According to The Christian Post, “A.D.” will pick up right where “The Bible” left off. It will focus on the first ten chapters in Acts and portray what happened after Jesus’ death.

Downey and Burnett have now also announced that a one-hour drama entitled “Unveiled” will follow the release of “A.D.” Unveiled, which will premiere during the 2015-2016 season. “Unveiled” will portray “flawed guardian angels” who try to help people dealing with crises. It may have been inspired by “Touched by an Angel,” the 90s TV series in which Downey played the angel Monica.
