Tim Tebow Visits Former Teammate Who Was Injured in Orlando Shooting

After the Orlando shooting, Christian football star Tim Tebow left the Bahamas and went to visit a former football teammate, one of the 53 people injured in the shooting.

According to Twitchy.com, when Tebow heard that his former high school teammate, Rodney Sumter, was injured in the Orlando shooting which took the lives of 49 and injured 53 others, he left the Bahamas where he was vacationing to visit Sumter.

Sumter was a bartender at Pulse nightclub in Orlando where the shooting took place. He was shot three times by the gunman, but survived.

Tebow wasted no time in visiting Sumter at Orlando Regional Medical Center. While he was there, the former Heisman trophy winner also visited some of the other victims of the shooting who were recovering.

Sumter posted a photo of himself and Tebow to Instagram with the caption: “My high school quarterback left the Bahamas to come and see me. Tebow has always been an awesome person.”

Tebow himself did not publicize the visit.

Sumter also posted a verse from Isaiah to his Instagram, thanking everyone for all the support he has received:

“No weapons formed against me shall prosper. Life changing experience and I don’t want to do anything but share my testimony and turn my life over to the lord. I don’t have my phone so I can’t respond to you all through text or Facebook just yet. … But thank you so so so much for the heavy support that I have received. It definitely hasn’t gone unnoticed.”

Tebow has often been recognized for living out his Christian faith, and it seems he is continuing to do so.
