The campaign, called #HoustonWeHaveAProblem was begun by Faith Driven Consumer; the same organization launched #IStandWithPhil which eventually led to the reinstatement of Phil Robertson to the A&E network.
As Christian Headlines previously reported, a group of five Houston pastors were asked to turn their sermons over to the city if they addressed homosexuality, gender identity, or Annise Parker, Houston’s first openly gay mayor.
Chris Stone, Faith Driven Consumer founder said, "There is a deeply troubling pattern of censorship with social media companies when people of faith speak out. From Kirk Cameron, to Mike Huckabee, to our own #IStandWithPhil campaign earlier this year, faith voices have curiously been blocked during critical times as they seek to be heard.”
"We are asking Twitter to immediately unblock thousands of people who have already flocked to our petition and want to spread the word from coast to coast."
Faith Driven Consumer’s petition urges the city to “cease and desist all bullying and other offensive actions against them [the pastors].” At the time of publication, the petition had garnered 9,000 signatures.
