Writer Takes Issue with Scandalous Church Sign Claiming Jesus Had Two Dads

A Catholic writer was outraged after he saw a Catholic church sign that read “Jesus had two dads and he turned out just fine.”

The Blaze reports that John Vennari, editor of the Catholic Family News, a faith-based journal, wrote an article condemning the sign at Saints Columba-Brigid Catholic Church in Buffalo, New York.

“[T]he sign was so scandalous,” Vennari said, that he had a “hard time believing it was not photo-shopped.”

Vennari’s article led to others expressing their outrage over the sign. Because of the backlash they received, the church took the sign down and replaced it with one that says, “Walmart Isn’t the Only Saving Place.”

Vennari released a statement saying he is “grateful” that the church took the sign down as it was an affront to Jesus’ family and Catholic faith as a whole.

However, he still expressed skepticism when the pastor of Columba-Brigid Parish claimed the “two dads” referred to a father and stepfather.

“With respect, it seems hard to imagine anyone in our time not being aware of what the ’2 dads’ term can imply, especially since the pro-homosexual book ‘Heather Has 2 Mommies’ has been around since 1989,” Vennari’s statement read.
