"It begins, inwardly, with personal response to the gospel and moves outwardly with a passion to advance the Kingdom."

I thing a big problem is where the discipleship process "begins".

When a seed is planted in the ground, the quality of the crop is, first and foremost, directly dependant on the quality of the seed. If that seed gets tainted, the growth process immediately becomes stagnant.

I believe the "seed" or the "gospel" has been tainted in the church and in the world of evangelism. We've changed the gospel message and as a result, many church-goers are like goats among sheep, bad fish among good fish, and wheat among tares. And how can a bad tree bear good fruit?

I think Satan's strategy has been very effective...taint the gospel and the whole body becomes infected.
