Jesus Called YOU Out!

I'm about to jump out of my skin to share with you something that the Lord downloaded on my heart some time ago. Maybe my antsy excitement to share is coming from all the sugar in the ginormous chocolate chip cookie I just ate and the Grande earl gray tea packed with caffine. OR, maybe it's the fact that Jesus totally called ME and YOU out in this verse I'm about to share. If you ever doubt the Scripture that says that God's word is living and active. (See Hebrews 4:12) Or if you ever question if this age old book –– the Bible–– is even applicable or speaks directly to you...check this out...

Jesus addressed the infamous "Doubting Thomas" by allowing Thomas to actually touch the open wounds from the cross on His hands. When Thomas proclaimed his faith, Jesus said something that has struck me and I believe that the LORD is calling us out with this statement:

Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” {John 20:29 ESV}

Our Lord is not restrained by time. I whole heartedly believe that He reaches past time, through the ages and speaks to each of us with this verse. (Please hear me say, EVERY letter, sentence, paragraph, chapter of the Bible is meant for us in some way or another. I was particularly blessed by the fact that the Lord, who was talking to Thomas and the disciples at the moment also had us in mind as well. Does that blow your mind like it does mine??)

We are blessed by our very King of Kings because we believe yet haven't seen Him face to face. Though I can not wait for the day where I will see my Lord in the flesh, behold His beauty and might with my own eyes, I'm encouraged by this special call out straight to us as believers of this day and age.

Though we have yet to see Him in the flesh, I wonder if you have seen Jesus...

~in an answer to a desperate prayer

~in the actions of someone who reached out to you when you were in need

~in the dark of the night when you were in need of His LIGHT.

~in the melody of a worship song as you tuned everything out just to praise your King.

Let us have faith even when we would rather err on the side of our need for proof. Let us have faith when the world tempts us to worship celebrities. Let us have faith when our heart hurts. Let us have faith when times are good and we think it is our own doing and not our gracious Lord's provision. Let us all step out today and...

Believe with out seeing. Be prepared for a blessing...
