Continuing with the detached-from-reality theme from last week, the folks at the "Taking Back America" conference wrapped up their remarkable event over the weekend. (You can read the entire article here. Guess what? It's even more outrageous than the Friday piece.)
Among other wild assertions made and applauded during the conference, the right wing "media machine" is now so powerful that it acts as a "a steamroller" of liberal ideas.
I'd like to accept much of the credit for this remarkable turn of events. Think about it: Prior to the launch of this blog, the liberals completely dominated the media -- from publishing to broadcast news networks to newspapers to television 'talk' shows to the vast majority of magazines. They owned it. NBC, The New York Times, Time, Newsweek, CBS, The Washington Post, NPR, The LA Times, PBS...
This doesn't even include Hollywood (need I say more?) and non-news publications like People, Redbook, Seventeen, Vanity Fair, Cosmopolitan, etc., etc.
Liberals sat atop the media kingdom while conservatives made do with talk radio, a few magazines and one cable news outlet.
Now, the usurpers from the Internet -- specifically those of us here in the Blogosphere -- have claimed the throne.
I mean, that's what the TBA says.
So, there you have it: Since this blog started a couple of months ago, conservatives have gone from picking up crumbs off the floor under the liberal media table to being a media monolith that cannot be stopped.
Next, I'll be tackling cancer and world peace.
