Mr. Craven's blog regarding "The Coming Evangelical Collapse" was insightful and thought provoking. As a Theology professor serving in Latin America and yet financially supported by a conservative evangelical agency in the U.S. I have the opportunity to view the evangelical culture through various lenses. The deplorable condition of current day disciplship through bible training is astounding. I say this being a first hand witness as having visited hundreds of churches during this decade. Obviously this will prove fatal in the not to distant future to the way things are. However, I would like to quickly note that the U.S is not the sole voice for evangelicalism in the West. As a whole evangelicals in Latin America view bible training, intercessory prayer and holy living as required disciplines for the Christian life. This is not to say that short-comings don't exist. Western evangelicalism can no longer be defined by the U.S. church. It is one voice, one of several.
