I agree that Chuck still does not realize the reality behind what he is addressing in this article. Too long the "conservative" voice in America has defended "the west" which, at its root is far more Greek than Christian & more about greed than equality. The "conservative Christian" voice has RUTHLESSLY fought social & economic fairness over the past 30 years, choosing "Republican conservatism" over the true message of Jesus & promoting financial lawlessness protecting the powerful, devaluing individual contribution & using the abortion issue to mask the fact that we are willing to let millions live & die in desperation while a few prosper from their sacrifice. It is time to follow the life of & message of Jesus, not the latest rumor or revelation of our "Christian leaders". Jesus never wore a star spangled toga. Our western "church" is sad testimony of the power of His precious blood. A house built on sand WILL fall. Til we long for HIS kingdom, we will not cry out for it.

Do you agree with this position? If so, it's the first time you seem to come close to the inevitable demise position. Most of your writing to date vehemently opposes this position and repudiates the decline of Christianity in America.

I agree this is a book we should read. But please don't give the appearance of sitting on the fence here regardless of which position you support.
