I have to respond to the comment about medical transcription. I am a medical transcriptionist, and I have been working from home since DAY 1. I have never had trouble getting a job working from home, and I have never had to work in an office or hospital. Some people choose to do that, but it is not a requirement. The key is to take the right course. I took CAI's course from home, and they have great contacts for helping you get your foot in the door. There are also several others courses that do a great job as well, so do your research and find the best one for you. Many of my friends have also always worked from home in this field. Don't be discouraged from going this route if you feel called to do it!

I always find these type of articles so inaccurate. Five years ago I investigated becoming a Medical Transcriptionist because I read and article similar to this one saying it was a great job for SAHMs. Not so. In order to work from home you must first work in a medical office for at least 3 to 5 years before anyone will even consider hiring you from your home to perform medical transcription. People who write these articles are out of touch.
